Geddes and Solvay are close-together houses and grown-up trees. The trees planted when the neighborhoods filled in are now taller than everything around them.
So when one has to come down, there’s usually a house, a garage, a fence, and a neighbor all within reach.
Happens all the time. It’s fixable.
Geddes and Solvay trees, by neighborhood
The Village of Solvay. Tight village lots with not much room to drop anything. Most removals here come down in sections, roped down by a climber.
Westvale. Neighborhood streets running up to the city line, with mature yard trees over roofs, driveways, and wires.
Lakeland and Lindbergh Lawns. Out toward Onondaga Lake. Wind off the lake finds dead wood and weak limbs, and those end up on cars and roofs.
What we can help with
Removals, trimming, stump grinding, and storm cleanup. Tell us where you are and what you’ve got. We’ll schedule a crew that’s already working around Geddes & Solvay, which can mean a quicker look and less drive time built into the quote.
Geddes & Solvay odds and ends
- Solvay picks up brush at the curb, in a neat pile apart from other yard waste. The village posts size limits for branch length and thickness, so whole trees and big limbs don’t qualify.
- Geddes picks up brush by area (Lakeland on Mondays, Westvale on Fridays), up to 3 cubic yards at a time. No whole trees. Cleanup needs to be part of the job.
- After a big storm, crews book up fast. Call early.
Questions people ask
Do you cover Solvay, Westvale, and Lakeland?
Yes. The Village of Solvay and the Town of Geddes, including Westvale, Lakeland, and Lindbergh Lawns.
Will the town or village pick up the wood after a tree comes down?
Not the whole tree. Geddes takes up to 3 cubic yards of brush at a time and no whole trees, and Solvay has size limits on branches. Our quote can include hauling everything away.
My street tree is dying. Is that mine to remove?
Maybe not. Trees in the right-of-way may belong to the village or town. Call them first. If it’s theirs, they handle it.
Can a crew take a tree down in a tight Solvay backyard?
Usually, yes. Crews climb the tree and lower it in sections when there’s no room to drop it.
